#24 How corporates and startups use data differently
I hope everyone has had a good week.
One thing that has been on my mind recently (I’m sure you can guess) is around data. 10 years ago Instagram, Whatsapp and Uber all didn’t exist before and approx 10% of London have signed the #saveyouruber petition.
Did you know 90% of the world’s data gets generated in the last two years?
Despite this corporates and startups use their data differently.

Data: how big companies vs startups use them differently?
Corporates have access to large sets of data. The challenge is to make sure their data is organised, cleaned, maintained and is complete. This is a constant challenge and because of acquisitions, legacy technology and change of business direction, this can be hard to maintain.
Startups, on the other hand, may not have access to or be able to afford the data their competitors have. They can, however, measure the customer’s journey, how their products are used and respond quickly.
I am a firm believer that data is a tool to help us ask the right questions.
