#32 - Keeping it real about your product usage before you value
I would love to see more of the data early stage startups are working with, I really would. At the heart of it, there is a lot of blues clues in the data. After all, early stage founding teams and investors all want to see some Traction.
I conducted some independent research and the findings were very interesting because it is quite clear that in the past couple years there hasn’t really been much going on despite the speed with which the cost of technology has come down.
The question is, which early-stage startups are going to understand their product usage so well that they will have the confidence to tell investors “you can stop using those vanity metrics, I know my product better than you bro” - my users are getting real value from my product and I got the numbers to prove it.
