What we can learn from the Snapchat’s failed redesign
When Snapchat redesigned their app, many people said “boy, bye!”
This was written by an experienced PM.
The product vision it didn’t seem strong enough IMO
Secondly, they are operating in a competitive space. Shareholders are nervous AF and to keep them convinced there is no doubt pressure to do things that may hurt the product in the short term to chase the mula.

NextDoor - Private Social Network for you and your Neigbours
The community network NextDoor that has shown just how miserable some neighbours are that they have created a BestofNextDoor to celebrate it has had it’s CEO step down.
I have spoken about NextDoor before and if you want to talk about ethics, Alex will give you a great convo.
NextDoor ability to assist in crime-spotting has been celebrated as its “killer feature” by tech pundits, but the app is also facilitating some of the same racial profiling we see playing out in cities across the country.
Commercially, I also believe they have a lot of value to offer local businesses that are having to compete with globalisation by being well-positioned for zonal advertising. Hopefully they can address upfront some of the the issues we as society have in ourselves, but it’s a hard call and they would be best learning some lessons from Facebook.,
