#71 - Let's get right to building real businesses
This week I slide through the #PowerofInclusion event at Google and it was dope to see familiar faces as well as new ones.
Some inights I learnt speaking to friends in this space
Many techies in underepresented spaces end up working in big tech companies rather than on their own products.
To combat the story of VC (i.e. those running for an exit) more people in the community are suggesting alternatives and cussing VC’s
I believe we need to bootstrap the market problems we seek to solve, learn to build MVP’s cost-effectively (without hiring developers) and start small carefully executing a real business model.
What does that mean?
It means using the resources you have to cost-effectively build a product that customers want to pay for which you’ll get to by understanding the numbers that matter most.
